Annual Microbiome Meet-up

The lab was pleased to participate in the Annual Microbiome Meet-Up at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where they networked with peers and attended informative talks.
Our lab members had the chance to present the following posters:

Dr. Gonzalez-Juarbe and Nakia presented on how early asthma onset triggered by environmental particles involves epigenetic modifications of dendritic cells, highlighting their research focus.

Adit: Identification of novel Lentilactobacillus hilgardii antimicrobial peptides with activity against carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii, a promising step in antimicrobial research.

Isha: Multi-omic changes in the lungs and heart post-severe SARS-CoV-2 Infection.

Maeve: Respiratory exposure to inert particulate matter during pregnancy leads to cardiac proteomic remodeling.

Aryaan: Phages, peptides, and antibiotics: a comprehensive approach to killing Serratia marcescens.
